History of the dove. And why choose us ? .

All doves and pigeons originate historically from the common rock dove. Our white doves have been bred from homing stock, They are a beautiful white colour and live in our avairy.

Our birds are bred from homing stock from the UK and as far as Belgium. So they have the ability to come home safe and are suitable for your wedding release. Some services might use garden doves without a good homing instinct or doves with Fantails. But these birds cant fly well, so they will not return home and they will soon become lost and may be attacked by birds of prey.  

My family and I have all been born and bred in South Tyneside. With a life long love of birds in general. Having previously been very succesfull in keeping, breeding and exhibiting cage and avairy birds. I know how to get the very best white doves possible, just for you. 

We aim for our birds to be In show condition and spotlessly clean, healthy and happy for your big day. A long term love of birds has taught me how to keep our birds healthy, happy and fit.
Our doves can be presented in white heart shaped baskets, decorated to your requirements, or we can present the birds in show cages if you would prefer. The release can either be by yourself or by a member of our team. Released from the cage, basket or by hand. The doves have to be released in the open air and not indoors. 

Our doves are capable of flying long distance weather permitting.

Well trained quality birds can fly up to 500 miles in one day. Allthough we only allow our doves to fly within a 50 mile radius from our community garden to ensure their safety.

 

 

Our doves cannot fly well in adverse weather conditions such as, heavy rain, strong winds, snow, fog or excessive heat. A bright sunny day provides the best conditions for a dove release.

We reserve the right to cancel the dove release. For the health and well being of our doves.  If the weather is too bad to release the doves an allternative release may be offered and doves displayed in display cages only as an allternative.
